Video with Speaker vs. Animated Video

In today’s Internet marketing, video is the king. Video conversion rates exceed those of any other marketing content. If, until a few years ago, producing a well-made video was costing thousands of euros and weeks of waiting, modern technology has made video production easier and much more convenient.

When you promote your business through a video, you have two options: make a video with a speaker or make an animated video.

A video with a speaker is the classic recording of someone talking in front of the camera. It can be a direct monologue or an interview.

Animated video is not real. There are no actors or set designs. It is not a recorded transmission with a video camera, but a series of illustrations that tell a story.

Let’s talk about how video can help your business

Cannot choose between a video with a presenter and an animated video?

Professor Richard Wiseman of the Department of Psychology at the University of Hertfordshire has recently conducted a large-scale online study comparing the psychological impact of a video with a presenter and an animated one.

The research team has identified potential candidates on the Internet, in particular on social media platforms Facebook and Twitter. A total of 2,090 volunteers participated in the study.

During the experiment, the respondents were divided into two groups. One group was shown a video with a speaker, the other an animated video.

Video with Speaker VS. Animated Video

The speaker video was presented by Professor Richard Wiseman in person for about a minute. This video was shot at one time and included Professor Wiseman’s head and shoulders.

In the animated video there was no professor Wiseman inside. The same soundtrack of the spoken video was used, the teacher was replaced by an animation that illustrated his comments.

Once the vision was over, the participants were asked to answer the questions to measure how much they remembered the video.

The first question included specific facts taken from the video content. The participants were then asked to evaluate how they found the video interesting, informative and entertaining. The last question was if they would have been inclined to share the video

Why Animated Video is better for Your Business

The results of Professor Wiseman’s experiment clearly show how animated video can help your business.

  • Animated video storage greater than 15%. Participants who viewed the animation-based video stored 15% more information after watching the video;
  • Animated videos were rated 33% funnier. 33% of the participants found the video based on the most amusing animation of the video with the speaker;
  • Animated videos are 66% more likely to be shared. 66% of the participants were more likely to share the animation-based video than the video with the speaker

Animated videos are much more effective because they stimulate the senses. Thanks to the constant movement, the interest of the public is held high, while a speaker with a monotonous tone may soon get bored. Visually, an animation is more interesting to watch than someone talking on the camera. Get to the point immediately, so that the viewer is focused on the message.
