Replace your hard drive with SSD and more RAM

Delete unnecessary startup items and Fonts 

When you login into your system after booting; some applications run along using memory and CPU. You can check those unnecessary items in the Macintosh library and also from Finder.  You can move them, stop the process, and then reboot and check if the startup process has improved. Remember not to remove them completely until you are sure that it is not doing anything critical in your system. You can check your startup items in system preferences. If you want to remove some just click the name and click the minus sign.

Remove unused hardware

Hardware items like printers, network disks, and scanners can cause to slow down our system. It’s better to remove them after use, especially if they are not working properly. Some hardware devices start upgrading their system automatically when an update is available.

Check your system from time to time

Disable notifications

Because of using lots of applications we are bombarded with notifications and updates. To decrease this overhead you can switch the notification off and it will save you your virtual memory that slowdowns your browser.

Merge open windows and browser tabs

Each open window has its own process and every time you open it it’s like the same process starting again consuming the same memory and CPU usage. So, always close the windows that are not in use. When you are working you open a lot of tabs on the web browser. Check the activity monitor and know which processes are taking the most CPU performance. Usually, these web pages are using most of the CPU and consuming processor while running a number of scripts in the system.
